My School, My Story

We are an AEMP Model School

Rio Vista is a Bucketfilling School

Arts Education

We provide a sequential, comprehensive, standard-based arts education for all students in all classrooms. With our partnership with Education Through Music - Los Angeles, all our students from Pre-K through Grade 5 receives weekly music classes.

Our students are exposed to a variety of technology-based activities integrated into the curriculum and school environment. By integrating technology into classroom, we aim to enhance students’ exploratory experience through cooperative learning and/or peer-collaboration. Classroom computers, mobile computer labs with laptops, document cameras, interactive boards, and projectors are available to enhance the students' learning.

Thanks to our community partner Comcast NBCUniversal and the Comcast Foundation for providing new computers to all classrooms!

Common Core State Standards

We are committed to ensuring that all students are college prepared and career ready.

The Common Core State Standards are a starting point for transforming the way we practice the art of teaching and for building stronger conversations among teachers, grade levels/departments, schools, districts, and states. There will be a consistent expectation throughout the country of what our students will need to know and be able to do at each grade level and course of study. The Common Core State Standards are a set of core understandings we want our students to have in order to be prepared for college and their careers ahead.

Listed below provides information about standards for each grade level:
