School for Advanced Studies
Our goal is to promote student achievement and develop critical, independent, and creative thinkers. Our program is enriched and accelerated with gifted and high achievers clustered across all classrooms. Instruction is differentiated to provide students with complex and challenging curriculum involving grade and across grade level collaboration. Social Emotional Program
Second Step is a research based program that integrate social-emotional learning into classrooms. This program aims to reduce problem behaviors and encourage school wide success by encouraging self-regulation, safety, and support. Arts Education
W
e provide a sequential, comprehensive, standard-based arts education for all students in all classrooms. With our partnership with Education Through Music - Los Angeles, all our students from Pre-K through Grade 5 receives weekly music classes.
Technology
Our students are exposed to a variety of technology-based activities integrated into the curriculum and school environment. We aim to enhance students’ exploratory experience through cooperative learning and/or peer-collaboration. At our Media Center, our students learn to use robots to develop pre-coding skills and problem-solve.

Common Core State Standards
We are committed to ensuring that all students are college prepared and career ready. The Common Core State Standards are a starting point for transforming the way we practice the art of teaching and for building stronger conversations among teachers, grade levels/departments, schools, districts, and states. There will be a consistent expectation throughout the country of what our students will need to know and be able to do at each grade level and course of study.
